Whenever you see a "sponsored" link in your google search results, it is being shown to you because the advertiser has chosen to use a PPC strategy to reach you. In these instances, it is the listings ranked as the highest matches to these keywords that the client will see displayed first, thus increasing the likelihood the client will visit the first few website returned by the search engine and one of those companies listed will be awarded that client's business. Already, competition in the SEO world has grown to a level where ranking for popular national keywords is certifiably impossible for any emerging brand. That's quality traffic, especially if you have an e-commerce site, or affiliate marketing site both of which depend on this kind of 'user intent' traffic to drive numbers.

The death of onsite SEO

In 2012, Google released another update, Penguin, aimed at black-hat techniques that manipulated a webpage ranking through artificial link schemes. Some JavaScript sites may use the app shell model where the initial HTML does not contain the actual content and Googlebot needs to execute JavaScript before being able to see the actual page content that JavaScript generates. These three top positions are coveted, as they get tons of visibility and traffic, but you can't necessarily achieve them with a traditional national SEO campaign and a couple of extra keywords. If you find that your backlinks are mainly coming from a small pool of domains, look at a way to diversify your backlink strategy to get links from a greater variety of domains.

And if a site has a wide presence of low-quality, time wasting pages, the site as a whole will be ranked lower. Once you've established who you are sending an email to asking for a Review too, you need to decide how to ask for the review. Google wants (and rewards) original content - it's a great way to push up the cost of SEO and create a better user experience at the same time. Lists allow them to glean these insights and takeaways easier, helping them save time, which provides a better user experience.

Think like a human not a robot when it comes to meta tags

If a blog or web site doesn't use the NoFollow tag, the search engines acknowledge the link; if a site does use the NoFollow tag, the search engines do not acknowledge the link. The thinking behind this was simple. Here, your goal is to make a comprehensive list of all the pages of your site, organized logically so users can follow it-and follow its links to those specific named pages. We asked an SEO Specialist, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "What would you do if you found your campaign stagnating?"

Additionally, Google uses this information to interpret the pages of your site, and if it likes what it sees, it will increase your authority and categorize you as it deems appropriate. If you want to get loads of quality traffic to your website you have to work a lot or invest a lot. That's potentially lost business even if you manage to attract traffic. Even if it wasn't a search ranking factor, it would be an important user experience factor, so don't neglect it.
